Values in Action: Nurturing Concerned Citizens and Future Leaders

At Bukit Panjang Primary School (BPPS), our Values in Action (VIA) programme, which is part of MOE's Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) framework, directly aligns with and supports our school's vision of developing concerned citizens and future leaders who contribute meaningfully to the community. Through VIA, students learn to be socially responsible and understand how they can contribute to the community. This programme enables them to put values into practice through hands-on experiences, helping them develop empathy and a sense of responsibility to make a positive difference in society. Our approach aligns with MOE's vision of nurturing students to be active contributors and concerned citizens who are rooted to Singapore.

Through the Mozzie Wipeout programme (partnering with NEA), they learn how their actions impact community health. This foundational experience teaches responsibility and community awareness
Primary 2: Extending Care to Others	Caring for my Friends	P2-P1 Buddy Programme	Students expand their circle of care through the P1 Buddy programme to develop empathy and interpersonal leadership skills.
Primary 2: Extending Care to Others	Caring for my Friends	Happy Plate (ALP)	The Happy Plate initiative teaches resource consciousness and consideration for others.
Primary 3: Building Compassion	Being Kind to Our Classmates	Buddy Clean	Clean Buddy programme builds on previous years' learning
Primary 3: Building Compassion	Being Kind to Our Classmates	Trash to Treasure (ALP)	Integration with ALP through sustainability projects to focus on developing deeper understanding of kindness and environmental responsibility
Primary 4: Developing Integrity	Contributing to My School Community	Project Eco Heroes (ALP)	Students take on broader community responsibilities to improve school environment.
Primary 5: Building Resilience	Being an Active Contributor	Discovering Needs in the community (Disabilities) ALP	Integrated with ALP, students tackle more challenging projects focused on improving accessibility. Students develops problem-solving skills and perseverance and builds community leadership through advocacy for those with different needs.
Primary 6: Expressing Gratitude	Playing an Active Role in My Community	Discovering Needs in the community (Elderly) ALP	Community leadership through intergenerational engagement and community service
